I think Google's making a mistake with this one. iGoogle has proven to be the most useful Home Page for me to years. I've got it configured with just the right feeds and widgets, a couple different layouts that can be swapped with a single drop-down selection. It's where I find many of the links and stories I share on Google+
I'm sad to see it go, it means Google will lose me using that as a starting point every time I launch a browser. It's fast, convenient and free. I'd even welcome ads if they wanted to make some revenue. Instead, I will likely use one of their competitors... Who would you recommend? Yahoo, MSN, Bing? Are there any as highly customizable, fast and reliable as iGoogle?
